It’s fumed and carbonized, which is a process that changes the color of the top layer of oak through and through. It’s suitable for installations above and below grade, and additionally over water-based radiant heat systems. It has a four sided micro-bevel and can be nailed, glued or floated. The flooring is unfinished, pre-sanded, and wire-brushed. Once installed, an additional sanding can be done with a buffing machine if a smoother surface is desired. This flooring avoids the huge mess of the heavy sanding equipment and allows for a choice of jobsite finishes. Knots and natural features of the wood are attributes of this grade.
